Jackson and Yellowstone

Aki and Dad spent a couple days in Jackson and Yellowstone playing in rivers, viewing the wildlife, and exploring some of the sites in the National Park.

We started out in Teton National Park driving along the Snake River and along the base of the Teton Mountains.

After all the dams we visited on our Western tour Aki decided he wanted to build one of his own. He worked with another boy to dam up this side channel on the Snake River.

We met up with our friend Dave and his family. Dave is the river manager for the Snake in Alpine Canyon and he took Aki and his daughter down in a raft. We all had a great day on the water.

Our friend Aaron owns the kayak shop in Jackson and we stayed at his house for a couple days. Aki loved playing with his cats (who spent most of the time with Aki looking for their escape route).

Aki was suitably impressed with the wildlife viewing opportunities in Yellowstone where we saw plenty of bison along the roads.

The geysers and bubbling paint pots were also a lot of fun.

We of course had to go check out the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
