Seattle has a new public space, the Olympic Sculpture Park, and we all went down for the official opening. The park is on an old industrial space on the Seattle waterfront and consists of three strips of land separated by railroad tracks and a highway, that are skillfully stitched together into one great park.

Alexander Calder's "Eagle" perched atop the high point of the park.

Aki at the foot of the "Eagle".

Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's "Typewriter Eraser"

Aki runs laps through Richard Serra's "Wake".

This is the bridge that crosses the railroad tracks and takes visitors down to the waterfront.

A new downtown beach. The Seattle waterfront is mostly seawall and piers but for the first time a small stretch has been converted back to beach.
