Thanksgiving Olympic Peninsula Trip

For about the past decade we have been going out to the Olympic Peninsula for Thanksgiving with a big group of Seattle friends. Aki was excited to get his boat on the water this year and we managed to drag a few friends along but it turned out to be a little cold for the kids.

Aki didn't have much luck getting his little friends out for a second day on the water but temperatures warmed up a bit and he went out with his big friends--Dawn and Victor. Here Aki scouts the gorge on the Hoko River.

Aki declared that the entrance rapid on the gorge was "too big" so we all decided to put in downstream.

Traveling down the river Aki kept an eye out for fish in the clear water.

We got to another big rapid which Victor ran. We portaged our boat.

By the end of the trip Aki was exhausted and fell asleep after a hard day of paddling.
