Japan: Aki Turns Two
Rie finished up her contract at Microsoft in late September and after Grandma Yamazaki came to visit us for a week in Seattle, Aki and Mom went to spend a month and a half in Japan. Aki celebrated his second birthday, went to the Japanese pre-school, and had a chance to learn lots of new Japanese words.
Aki was in Japan for his Second Birthday. Aki received a very cool present but it's still in the box for the trip home. It will be unveiled in a future post when Aki gets to open it.
Aki managed to get into trouble. His grandparents have not had toddlers around for a while and they learned that paper screens are not toddler proof.
Aki loves lining things up.
More organizing objects.
And organizing people too. One of Aki's new words is "koko" which means "here" in Japanese. He likes to tell everyone where they should be.

Aki checking out another slide.
Aki digs into his favorite breakfast food--fermented soy beans.
